Bein' a black woman from Mississippi, I've learned that long ago that's not true
Its 'with a handful, for a handful, by a handful' - but we gonna change that baby.

If this society of yours is a great society
God knows I would hate to live in a bad one.

One crowd of people can't change the status quo
But if 2 and 2 and 50 make a million
we'll see the day come round
and we'll be able to stand and fight together for the things that we rightfully deserve
to make democracy a reality for all of the people of the world regardless of race or color.
