about

"Instro-loop/sample laden 7" which take an Orb like approach to laid-back compositions and mixes up some deep spoken word samples (from Jimmy Carter and Mike Ruppert no less) with some of that blissful beat backing...It all makes a strong musical point! Recommended!"
Jumbo Records, Leeds

“What Fold does with speech recordings is very cool. They’re able to twist the speeches, reflect on world problems, and make it all sound cohesive and pleasant at the same time.”
Nancy Hoang, Hopeless Thunder

Mr President. We're In Trouble (ft. Jimmy Carter) was nominated for an Independent Music Award in the category of Spoken Word (with music accompaniment).

75% of profits from digital sales of this release will go to the Equality Trust:

“an organisation working to promote more equal societies across the world. The trust was founded on the back of a groundbreaking book called The Spirit Level, by Richard Wilkinson and Kate Pickett, which used 30 years worth of research to prove why more equal societies are better for everyone (a hugely compelling piece of work that is well worth reading).”

Track Name: Mr President, We’re In Trouble (ft. Jimmy Carter)
Mr President, we’re in trouble.

It’s clear that the true problems of our nation are much deeper… deeper than gasoline lines or energy shortages – deeper, even, than inflation or recession.

Too many of us now tend to worship self-indulgence and consumption.
Human identity is no longer defined by what one does but by what one owns.

And we’ve discovered that owning things and consuming things does not satisfy our longing for meaning.
We’ve learned that piling up material goods cannot fill the emptiness of lives which have no confidence or purpose.

Mr President, we’re in trouble.

What can we do?
First of all, we must face the truth and then we can change our course.
If you lead Mr President, we will follow.
Track Name: That’s the Life Experience (ft. Mike Ruppert)
All plastic is oil; most paints; all pesticides are made from oil. Everything from toothpaste to toothbrushes is made from oil. There are 7 gallons of oil in every tire. There is nothing anywhere in any combination that will replace the edifice built by fossil fuels… Nothing.

I think it’s fairly certain that the mortal blow of human industrialised civilisation will happen when oil prices spike again and nobody can afford to buy that oil – and everything will just shut down.

The love of money is the route of all evil and it is the love of money which has the potential to exterminate, to render extinct, the entire human race.

You walk toward your fear, you embrace your fear, you don’t try to hedge it. Part of real living as a human being, as a spiritual being, is to embrace and encompass your fear, your love and not run away from anything because that’s the life experience. And its in that richness that I think we find the most beautiful art, the most beautiful music; we find the richness of what the human soul can offer and I see all that richness buried under such bullshit.

The only thing in the world that you and I can possibly change – to give ourselves a chance of survival and to give our children a chance at some kind of human civilised life – is our minds.

We are all collectively – as a species – responsible for what may be the greatest preventable holocaust in the history of planet earth… our own suicide.
